Our global network of laboratories offers internationally standardized next generation molecular and flow cytometry panels to support drug development and accelerate drug approvals worldwide. We work with pharmaceutical partners and international regulatory agencies across the globe to develop companion diagnostics, which are necessary to gain approval of new drugs and treatments for cancer patients. Our harmonized ISO15189 accredited and CLIA/CAP clinical laboratories offer a test menu focused on biomarkers which are clinically actionable to support therapeutic decisions, measurable residual disease (MRD) testing, patient stratification, and trial enrollment, all designed to accelerate approvals of new oncology drugs and treatments.

We are looking to add a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer to leads design, development and deployment of automated workflows and computational infrastructure for Bioinformatics software. S/he will oversee the computational infrastructure and adheres to aspects of software engineering best-practices.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Leads the design, development, implementation and maintenance of aspects of the bioinformatics function and elements of the production computing capability.
  • Leads the implementation of automation to improve service health, manageability, scalability and reliability.
  • Provision new AWS infrastructure for high complexity Bioinformatics software
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Gitlab CI
  • Develops novel tools and utilize web-based bioinformatics, public/proprietary databases, and collaborates with project teams.
  • Provides technical guidance, training and development for team members.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

You Bring:

  • M.S. degree in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology or related field and 7+ years applicable post-graduate experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with Linux and fluency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python) with the capability to quickly learn and adopt new tools.
  • Experience in identifying, proposing and implementing novel technologies to aid in Bioinformatics and computational workloads.
  • Experience providing technical leadership to a team of bioinformatics scientists, with cooperation amongst multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Extensive background building and deploying container-based software and leveraging workflow management tools
  • Experience with REST APIs and webservices is a plus.
  • Experience developing software in a regulated environment is a plus (e.g. IVD, IVDR, CLIA).
